Maybe it was the grades, maybe it was the allegations that he was given a car, or maybe it was the recent arrest where he punched a bouncer; whatever the reason, Darren McFadden, two-time runner-up for the Heisman Trophy, has declared he’ll forego his senior season and enter the NFL draft.
Multiple sources said McFadden’s father, Graylon McFadden, dispatched the appropriate paperwork to the NFL office early this week. The decision by one of the college game’s most electrifying performers to leave school a year early and pursue a professional career was hardly unexpected.
While it is still early in the evaluation process for the April 26-27 draft, many league scouts feel that McFadden could be the most talented prospect in the player pool.
The Dolphins have the number one overall pick, but rumor is that they have a heavy eye on Glenn Dorsey. I can’t see the Rams taking him at two, which means either the Raiders or Falcons will probably take him. Bobby Petrino can now breathe easy: All those people that said he’d be gone before McFadden, well, they were wrong.
