The news just got worse for Notre Dame’s offense, now that Darius Walker, junior tailback for the Irish, has announced he’ll go to the NFL. This seemed as an odd move to me and to many other scouts. From what I’ve read, there’s a slight chance he’ll go first round, but most experts are saying he’s going to be second round, and might even slip to the third round. I guess when Charlie Weis held a team meeting to try and urge his 1st string defense to leave early, the wrong message was received.
Speaking of teams who got shattered in their bowl game, Anthony Gonzalez, starting wide receiver opposite of Ted Ginn, has also announced that he’ll leave early. This comes as bad news to the Buckeyes, who have also lost a Heisman winner and some kind of sprinting freak to the NFL already.
