Gary Sheffield isn’t exactly someone known for his silence, and this time he’s going off on former agent Scott Boras.
The two have a lawsuit going on right now — one that Gary says he can’t really talk about — over the contract he signed with the Yankees that Boras says he’s due 5 percent. Sheffield’s reaction is simply that Boras is a “bad person.”
“Nothing happens. Then, he comes back, `I want some more money.’ That’s basically the way he’s acting,” Sheffield said. “I don’t know why. It’s probably personal with him. But when it’s done, it’s going to be personal with me.”
I can’t imagine Gary making any type of argument personal. At the same time, if Gary thinks you’re a bad person, you’re clearly a bad person.

For being the 1 millionth person to call uber-agent Scott Boras a “bad person” Detroit Tiger slugger Gary Sheffield has won The Ethical Culture Society Sweepstakes and will receive a Toyota Prius and a $100,000 cashier’s check. “I never won anything before,” said Sheffield , “this is really neat.”

Gary should become an agent when he retires and compete against Boras. He did a fine job negotiating a deal on his own.
