Braves 1, Nationals 5: Score 9 on the Marlins, then score 1 on the Nats. For “the worst team ever,” as they’re being called in the first two weeks of the season, the Nats aren’t doing so shabby. They’re 4-9, yes, but have two wins against the Braves and one win against the Mets. Oh, and a better overall record than the Phillies.
Padres 4, Cubs 12: The good news: The Cubs actually won. The bad news: Their big offseason acquistion (who’s batting .234), Alfonso Soriano, might have tweaked his hamstring when he made a diving catch in the outfield. Cliff Floyd filled in for him, who hit his first homer of the year.
Marlins 3, Astros 4: I won’t give any stats from Houston games until they start putting Lidge in there, at least as a middle reliever. But the ‘Stros won, if you couldn’t tell from the heading.
Pirates 3, Cardinals 2: The bases were loaded with two outs in the ninth, and Pujols popped out to end the game. Just when you think he’s getting out of his slump, he doesn’t come through in a situation he usually comes through.
Angels 2, Red Sox 7: It wasn’t a very good game, but was worth watching just to see the pizza thrown at that guy. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, I’ll hopefully have it up later; I’m waiting for it to appear on Youtube. Oh, and Josh Beckett pitched a pretty good game.
