Toronto Blue Jays 2, New York Yankees 3: Joe Girardi got his first victory in a Yankees uniform, and it came thanks to a solid pitching effort from Chien-Ming Wang, who went seven innings and gave up two runs on just six hits. Ace Roy Halladay gave up three runs, one of them coming off the bat of Melky Cabrera, who hit a solo shot in the sixth.

New York Mets 4, Florida Marlins 5: At this point, it has to be hard justifying losing to the Marlins, who, outside of Hanley Ramirez and Dan Uggla, don’t have any real major-leaguers. Pedro Martinez hurt his leg and went out in the fourth, but it was probably best: He’d given up four earned runs on four hits, and had already thrown 57 pitches through three and a third.

Boston Red Sox 2, Oakland A’s 1: It seems every time these two teams play, you get yourself a close ball game. Dice-K pitched two hit baseball through six innings, giving up his only run on a solo homer. David Ortiz went 0-4 on the game.

San Francisco Giants 2, Los Angeles Dodgers 3: Joe Torre’s a perfect 2-0, and the Giants are a perfect winless, something that may become a trend as the season goes on (they stunk with Barry, so I can’t imagine them being much good without him). Newly acquired Andruw Jones was 0-2, and is now just 1-6 on the year, proving to everyone that he wasn’t overpaid at all by the kind people of LA.
