Roger Clemens is back. Again.

The Yanks are shoveling out $18 million — $4.5 million per month — for Roger Clemens, ending any sports fan’s dream of one day seeing Clemens and Schilling on the same team comparing egos, milestones, and who’s the bigger badass.

Clemens: You know how many wins I got?
Schilling: Puh-lease. You’ve had good hitting lineups. Give the bats some credit.

[pause]

Schilling: Hey, can you hand me that red paint over there?
Clemens: [ignoring the question] I wonder if I can still throw it 104. That’s pretty hard, ya know.
Schilling: Almost as hard as when I won the World Series MVP when I mowed down the Yankees.
Clemens: Co-MVP.
Schilling: [dabbing sock with brush] We’ll see who the bigger hero is. . . .
Clemens: [throwing fastballs at Mike Piazza cut-out] Yes. . . yes we will.

Anyway, Yanks sign someone who, after the luxury tax, is going to cost them about $26 million. With pitching now in place, the pressure is right back on A-Rod, which at least makes things fun again.
