Hornets 100, Knicks 88: Chris Paul had 27 points and eight assists, and three other players scored in double digits for the Hornets, who continue to be a 2008 surprise team. The Knicks, meanwhile, are also continuing to surprise: They’re somehow worse than they were last year, and have now dropped 14 of their last 18 games. I’d say the writing is on the wall for Isiah, only I think he somehow retains his job after this year. Nothing James Dolan does is really a surprise anymore.

Mavericks 110, Jazz 116: After a long, emotional game against the Lakers, the Mavs put together too much, too late, the following night against Utah. Down 21 points at one time, Dallas fought back on Josh Howard’s 25 point effort and Dirk’s 23 point effort, but fell short in the end. Andre Kirilenko left the game early for the Jazz after Dirk’s flagrant foul, but Carlos Boozer and Mehmet Okur combined for 48 points in the victory.

76′ers 106, Clippers 80: Without Sam Cassell, the Clips didn’t look too great. They were under 50 percent from the field, and shot just 22 percent from beyond the arch, and were led by Al Thornton’s 20 points (he’s a rookie), but also managed 10 turnovers in the same game, which is never a good thing. Six players scored in double figures for the Sixers, led by Iguodala’s 18.
