Houston Rockets 83, Atlanta Hawks 75: Houston won their 20th straight game, surpassing the ‘70-’71 Bucks, and closing in a little more on the ‘72 Lakers that put together 33 straight. This game was ugly: Both teams shot 33% from the field, and the halftime score was 33-32, Atlanta. With two minutes left in the game, Atlanta trailed 71-70, and given the final score, you kind of get the feel for how those final moments played out. Josh Smith had a career high 22 rebounds for Atlanta, and T-Mac was able to lead all Rockets with 28 points of his own. Houston’s last loss was January 27, which is starting to feel like Atlanta’s last win (seriously, being an Atlanta fan really, really sucks).
Los Angeles Clippers 88, Orlando Magic 110: Drafting in the Top 10 should be a familiar place for Clippers fans, and it looks as if they’ll get familiar with such picks again this year. The Clips lost for the ninth time in 11 tries, and don’t seem to be going anywhere but down. Rookie Al Thornton continues to impress for the Clippers, scoring 17 off the bench, and Corey Maggette led the Clips with 22 points of his own. Dwight Howard had 22 points and 13 rebounds for the surging Magic.
Seattle Supersonics 82, Boston Celtics 111: Boston managed 111 points, and their leading scorer had only 18, showing you just how much the ball got passed around. Kevin Durant led all Sonics with 17 points.
San Antonio Spurs 75, New Orlenans Hornets 100: Yikes.
Dallas Mavericks 118, Charlotte Bobcats 93: Charlotte was actually started to surge forward a little, but this may prove to be a temporary set back. Though the ‘Cats shot 45 perecent from the field, they unfortunately couldn’t stop anybody; Dallas shot 53 percent from the field and over 40 percent from beyond the arch. Jason Kidd had six points and eight assists for the Mavs.
