Whenever there’s a Kobe vs. Shaq sighting, it’s a good thing, unless, of course, Shaq is on the Heat, a team that hasn’t seen a win since the last time Miami saw some snow. With the big trade, going to the Western Conference leading Suns, the rivalry has been revived a bit.
Shaq’s debut was last night, as the Phoenix Suns hosted the L.A. Lakers. He played 29 minutes in a losing effort, scoring 15 points, and grabbing nine boards, one short of a double-double for the game. Steve Nash scored 26 points with a measley 8 assists for the Suns.
Kobe Bryant, on the other hand, wanted to remind everyone he’s just fine without Shaq, lighting the Suns up for 41 points, shooting over 55 percent from the field. Newly acquired Pau Gasol proved better than The Diesel, scoring 29 points on 13/19 from the floor, but only had three rebounds.
