I just finished watching my Vols smack South Carolina, but there’s some NBA going on, as well. Some scores today:
76′ers 119, Bucks 97: It’s hard to imagine a world in which the 76′ers are good enough to make the playoffs, but that world is indeed happening. With this win today, they moved into the seventh spot in the East, and are a handful of games ahead of the trailing Atlanta Hawks. (And let’s face it: The Hawks are the Hawks, and are hardly a team to be taken seriously come post-season play.) Seven players scored in double figures for the Sixers, led by Thaddeus Young’s career high 22. The Bucks have now lost five of the last six games, and are fading fast in the Eastern picture.
Supersonics 106, Raptors 114: Kevin Durant scored 20 points, and did so by only chucking it up 15 times. The Raptors are still Boshless, but they used a steady, balanced attack to fight off the Sonics and snap out of their recent funk. The Sonics are well on their way to a new city and another No. 1 pick. The thinking is that Michael Beasley is the first player taken, but I gotta ask: Do you want a guy who’s going to chuck it up 30 times when you’ve already got a guy who’s going to chuck it up 30 times?
