This just in:

The Miami Dolphins have fired coach Cam Cameron after his only season produced only one win. Cameron was fired Thursday by new Dolphins’ boss Bill Parcells, which means the reeling franchise will have its fifth head coach in five seasons in 2008.

It comes as very bad news to Cam Cameron, who was sitting kinda pretty as the offensive guru for the loaded San Diego Chargers last year. When coaches were first being interviewed, I wanted the Falcons to go after him; other than his horrible performance against the Pats in the playoffs, where he forgot the Chargers had LT, I thought he was pretty solid. He did a nice job of mixing the run with the pass, and using play action to set up the deep ball and stretch the field.

As it turns out, he wasn’t a very good selection, though he was better than the Falcons ultimate selection.

I think the writing’s on the wall now for Jason Garrett to land the head coaching job of the woeful Dolphins. I’m not certain why he’d want it, but he’s my early guess (I just don’t see Romeo Crennel leaving a great situation in Cleveland to run the mess that is the Miami Dolphins) for who will win the job.

Hopefully Bill Parcells can find a coach that will last. Five coaches in five seasons for the Dolphins is a bit, well, pathetic. It’s starting to make the Falcons coaches look tenured.
