Around this time every year, we start speculating who will be on the cover of Madden, and who will ultimately be cursed for not just a season, but a career (look at the recent picks of Shaun Alexander and Michael Vick). This year will feature Brett Favre, who, last I checked, is retired. You have to wonder if the Madden Curse is really affecting who they select for the cover of the game. Did no one who’s currently playing want to be involved with this thing? Was an LT available, a Tom Brady, a Peyton Manning. . . even an Eli Manning?

One thing’s for sure, Favre better look out. This Madden Curse is known to stretch longer than the football field, and I wouldn’t be too surprised to see a nasty lawn-mowing incident this year.
