I only know what they were because I took them in teasers. A three team, ten point teaser, where all I needed was for Indianapolis and San Diego to win the game. The Chargers had the Panthers, which may be a scary bet if Steve Smith didn’t break Ken Lucas’s face with his fist. The Bears would be a scary team to pick against if they weren’t led by Kyle Orton and backed up by Rex Grossman.

So, with the Pats as my only other team in the teaser, and after seeing them narrowly escape the 5.5 points I teased it down to after Brady got injured, I felt safe. I figured if they could do it missing their starting quarterback, these two super power teams could pull it off at home against pretty poor teams.

If you’ve seen the results, the Colts got kicked around, and the Chargers somehow managed to let a Jake Dellhome pass get through two defenders and into a Panthers’ players outstretched arms.

All in all, my week in betting has been miserable. I used to not bet the first week because of its unpredictability — if you said the Falcons were going to score 34 points, I’ll call you a liar — and will probably go back to that way of thinking next year.

Anyone else have a miserable Sunday?
