Asante Samuel got a hair under $10 million a year. He may be the best cornerback in the league — yes, Champ Bailey is overrated — and he’s also a team player.

Well, another cornerback, D-Hall, who’s not the best in the game, and who isn’t a team player, just got a shit ton of money from the Oakland Raiders.

Atlanta Falcons cornerback DeAngelo Hall says he will finalize a contract with Oakland by Thursday morning, allowing the trade sending him to the Raiders to be completed.

A source told ESPN’s Chris Mortensen that the deal is for seven years and worth $70 million. The amount of guaranteed money and bonuses in the contract have not been finalized.

For a guy that’s me-me-me, it’s hard for me to justify this kind of cash coming his way. And it’s especially risky to invest so much money in a guy who’s one pat-on-his-own-back away from tearing a rotator cuff.
