Though I believe he’s well past his time, it is with regret that I post the Falcons have parted ways with Warrick Dunn.
“Warrick Dunn holds himself to the highest standards of the National Football League,” Falcons owner Arthur Blank said in a statement released by the team. “His contributions, not only to the Falcons but to the entire NFL both on and off the field, have been well documented. The legacy he leaves in Atlanta will be long-remembered and appreciated by his fellow players, fans and the community. In my mind, Warrick will always be part of the Falcons family. At times like this our hearts are heavy, but the nature of the game sometimes requires making these kinds of decisions, however difficult they are for all of us. I wish Warrick continued great success in his future endeavors.”
Through all the Michael Vick mess, Warrick Dunn stood as one of the lone guys that kids can really look up to. He not only played on the field like a professional, but helped a countless number of people off the field.
Denver, Green Bay, and Dallas have been listed as possible suitors, but I’ve gotta ask: What about Indy? He and Tony Dungy have a great relationship, and it puts him in a prime position to compete for a Super Bowl ring, something no one in the NFL deserves more. And not to disrespect Kenton Keith — I think he’s a good backup — but if Dunn were there last year, he probably would have caught that lobbed pass right at him on the one yard line, giving the Colts a touchdown, advancing them to the next round against the Pats.

Warrick is a kind-hearted, take-care-of business MAN.
