The hearing was today, so I figure there should be some coverage on it, even if it’s just a little. He’s given a “not guilty” plea, and says the truth will come out in court – he better hope not — and that his good name will be cleared. The really bad news is that there’s been a “superceding indictment,” a term I don’t claim to have known before today, but have since learned it means there’s probably more charges to be tacked on to the already long list of doggy-no-nos.
The defense seems optimistic about this, because it can mean that some charges are going to be dropped; but, let’s be honest, this is Mike Vick, who isn’t exactly known for detracting trouble.
So, trial begins November 26, 9:30 a.m. My guess is the last game last season will be the last time we see Ookie in action. I guess there’s a chance Mr. Mexico could play the first part of the season, but the guys on NFL Live, who are never wrong, didn’t seem to think so, especially Merril Hodge, who was clearly upset about Deion’s most recent comments (a bit too upset, if you ask me; Deion’s comments are hard to get mad about, given who’s saying them).
