Jacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle Richard Collier was shot last night — or, technically, early this morning — while sitting in an Escalade with former teammate Kenneth Pettway. Collier is in critical condition, but it is unknown at the time where he was shot.

Many Jacksonville players have convened at the hospital, hoping and praying he pulls his way through.

“The guys are in shock,” Pro Bowl running back Fred Taylor said. “You see this kind of thing happen all the time on TV, but you never expect it in your own back yard. He’s a good dude. I just pray for him and his family and wish the best for them. I’m sure he’ll pull through.”

Prayers out to Richard and his family. At this point, getting back on the field is a non-issue, just making it through this thing all right is what we’re all hoping for.
