There were some good games. Here’s your final scores from today’s first half.
Jacksonville Jaguars 10, Tennessee Titans 17: The Titans are doing what they did last year, playing defense and playing just enough offense to get the job done.
Houston Texans 17, Pittsburgh Steelers 38: There were a lot of folks calling for an upset in this one. And for those that did — especially those that bet that way — well, they were upset. This game was 21-0 before you could blink, and Pittsburgh never looked back.
Tampa Bay Bucs 20, New Orleans Saints 24: I said it was my Lock of the Week. And even if they only covered by a half point, the Saints still covered, and my Lock of the Week held up.
St. Louis Rams 3, Philadelphia Eagles 38: It’s bad in the NFL when you can’t even be competitive. Is Philly that good or is St. Louis really that bad?
KC Chiefs 10, New England Patriots 17: When your starting QB goes down, you’ll take the win. But the Chiefs got down to the five yard line with a minute left, and just couldn’t put it in the end zone. If you’re a Pats fan, you’re probably very concerned about the health of Tom Brady.
New York Jets 20, Miami Dolphins 14: Chad Pennington got them close as the game wound down, but threw a pick in the end zone with 0:13 seconds left.
Seattle Seahawks 10, Buffalo Bills 34: Maybe this was the Seahawks being beaten up. If not, then the Bills may be a team to watch this year.
Cincinnati Bengals 10, Baltimore Ravens 17: The Bengals passed for 99 yards and rushed for 65. Had it not been for a 65 yard fumble return, the Bengals wouldn’t have even made this thing competitive. Joe Flacco finished 15/29 for 129 yards, but didn’t turn the ball over once.
Detroit Lions 21, Atlanta Falcons 34: The Lions got over a hundred yards from Calvin Johnson, btu the Falcons got over 300 yards rushing from Michael Turner (220 yards) and Jerious Norwood (93 yards). Matt Ryan was 9/13 for 161 yards and a touchdown, and didn’t turn the ball over once.
