Last week against the spread: 7-7
On the Season: 60-67
Locks of the Week: 5-3
This week:
Denver Broncos (+3) @ Cleveland Browns: The Browns are essentially done. The Broncos are just as bad, if not worse, but they’ve still got something to play for (that’s how bad the West is). A rookie QB, essentially, playing for Cleveland in this one? Too scary. The points are nice, but Denver wins it straight up.
Jacksonville Jaguars @ Detroit Lions (+7): You heard it here first: After Sunday, the Lions will no longer be winless.
Tennessee Titans (-3) @ Chicago Bears: Because I don’t think Kyle Orton is going to play, I’ll take the Titans. If he does play, though, and you get official word early Sunday, take the Bears.
Buffalo Bills @ New England Patriots (-3): The Bills are just too up and down. Go with the team more steady this season.
New Orleans Saints @ Atlanta Falcons (PICK ‘EM): The Falcons are 5-3 on the season. They’re 5-3 against the spread. At home, they’re 3-0 on the season. And 3-0 against the spread. You’re getting where I’m going. Falcons cover.
St. Louis Rams (+9) @ New York Jets: It feels like a let-down week, the type that Brett Favre throws three or four picks. Jets will win, but take the Rams.
Seattle Seahawks @ Miami Dolphins (-8): It’s a bad day in the NFL when this Miami team is an 8 point favorite. But that Seattle team is really that bad. the ‘Hawks have covered the spread twice this year. The Dolphins continue to surprise. Take Miami.
Carolina Panthers (-9.5) @ Oakland Raiders: I was tempted to take the Panthers as my lock of the week, but they’ve struggled on the road. It’s the only reason. Oakland is terrible, and Carolina’s defensive line should eat JaMarcus up.
Kansas City Chiefs (+16) @ San Diego Chargers: I’ve gotta take the 16. This isn’t exactly last year’s Patriots team they’re playing.
New York Giants (+3) @ Philadelphia Eagles: Philly’s been tough in Philly. New York’s been tough everywhere. Take the Giants.
Baltimore Ravens (PICK ‘EM) @ Houston Texans: Love this game. That defense against Sage Rosenfels? C’mon. It doesn’t get much easier than that.
San Francisco 49′ers @ Arizona Cardinals (-9): Welcome to the worst Monday Night Football game of the year. Unless, of course, you bet, and unless, of course, you’re smart enough to lay it all on the Cardinals. Enjoy the boring game and the easy win.
-Lock of the Week:
Green Bay Packers (+3) @ Minnesota Vikings: I know a lot of people will say, “This can’t be your lock of the week…. both of these teams are really good.” Except Minnesota doesn’t play anyone with an offense, and while the defense has been good, Aaron Rodgers should carve them up. I like AP. I like the Williams Boys in the middle. But I just dont’ see them hanging with Green Bay’s passing attack.
