.) Tennessee Titans: They’re undefeated. I still think New York’s better, but the records don’t lie.

.) New York Giants: They run. They pass. They play nasty, pressure the quarterback D. There’s not a lot of holes in this team.

.) Carolina Panthers: They get the nod because of their record. We’ll see how tough this team is over the next five weeks. Their schedule is downright brutal.

.) Tampa Bay Bucs: The South is the toughest division in football. And if you check their schedule and compare it to Atlanta’s and Carolina’s, they’ve got the inside track to win it.

.) Pittsburgh Steelers: Good defense. But Big Ben needs to get that offense going eventually.

.) New York Jets: Big test this week against Tennessee. We’ll get to see how good this team really is.

.) Arizona Cardinals: They play in the weakest division in football, but they’re about to have it wrapped up. One more win, and they clinch. Unfortunately, that might have to wait a week. Up next: The Giants.

.) Indianapolis Colts: They’re coming on strong at the right time of year.

.) New England Patriots: Tough loss, but you had to like Cassel’s performance.

.) Washington Redskins: Jim Zorn got all the praises early. Now he’s got to deal with the fact that he can’t score. One touchdown in the last two games? Not good.

.) Dallas Cowboys: That wasn’t vintage Tony Romo, but a banged up Romo is better than a healthy Brad Johnson.

.) Baltimore Ravens: Tough loss to the Giants. But they were more competitive than the 30-10 score indicated.

.) Atlanta Falcons: It was a tough loss at home. If they can beat Carolina this week, they’ll be right back in the picture.

.) Miami Dolphins: They struggled, and they shouldn’t have. Their schedule is easy, but if they play like they did against the Raiders, they’re gonig to lose a couple.

.) Denver Broncos: They’re leaps and bounds ahead of San Diego now in a pretty bad division.

.) Green Bay Packers: It was a big, big win. If Aaron Rodgers’ arm is healthy, look out.

.) Buffalo Bills: When will we see JP Losman?

.) Philadelphia Eagles: McNabb, unfortunately, the game can’t go into a sixth quarter. Sorry.

.) New Orleans Saints: They’ve got some home games coming up, where they’re always dangerous. Don’t write this team off just yet.

.) Minnesota Vikings: They’re better than this ranking gives them credit. But right when it looks like they’re turning the corner, they regress.

.) Chicago Bears: It was as if they didn’t even want to show up on Sunday.

.) Jacksonville Jaguars: Give them effort for trying. They got the Titans nervous, were actually up a good bit, but fell apart at the end. Overall, a competitive game, though.

.) San Diego Chargers: They fired Marty after 14 wins. My guess is they’ll release Norv after winning only 7.

.) Cleveland Browns: Brady Quinn looks good at moments and bad at moments. Overall, though, he’ll be a good NFL quarterback.

.) SF 49′ers: The team plays with more heart under Singletary. That’s one thing that’s been clear.

.) Houston Texans: Close game against the Colts. I think Texans fans are tired of hearing that.

.) Seattle Seahawks: If you think things are gonig to get better, Seattle fans, think again — as a Falcons fan, I can promise you Jim Mora, Jr. and offensive coordinator Greg Knapp won’t instill a ton of excitement about the direction of your team.

.) St. Louis Rams: Good thing they didn’t pull the trigger on that Jim Haslett extension.

.) Cincinnati Bengals: And no one on their team was wondering what happened after the first overtime. That should almost merit them higher placement than the Eagles.

.) Kansas City Chiefs: They’re playing teams close. Tyler Thigpen might be a legitimate NFL QB.

.) Oakland Raiders: Their offense is awful. The switch in coordinators didn’t help anything.

.) Detroit Lions: It’s a very real possibility that this team goes winless. The rest of their season is probably the hardest part, with games left against, Tampa Bay, Tennessee, Minnesota, Indy on the road, New Orleans, and in Green Bay. If you’re a Detroit fan, is there anywhere you mark as a W heading into the game?
