.) Tennessee Titans: I don’t think they’re the best team in football, but since they’re undefeated, it’s hard to argue putting them in the top spot.
.) New York Giants: The road to Tampa is going to go through New York. And beating that team in the Meadowlands when it’s 20 degrees outside and Brandon Jacobs is running over bodies… well, it’ll be tough.
.) Carolina Panthers: It’s scary to see a team throw four picks in a game and have them as the third best team in the league right now. But throwing four picks and winning says a lot about winning in unconventional ways.
.) New England Patriots: There’s a lot of 6-3 teams. But if Matt Cassel keeps playing well, you’ve gotta believe with their experience that the Pats are the scariest of them all.
.) New York Jets: If they can play like they did against St. Louis, and not put the game in the hands of the interception machine that is Brett Favre, this team can be very, very good.
.) Atlanta Falcons: After Detroit and KC, everyone had question marks. Now they’ve beaten Chicago, Green Bay, got robbed against Philly, and put it on the Saints (don’t let the score in that one mislead you). Forget Wild Card. This team has a shot to win their division.
.) Pittsburgh Steelers: Just let Byron Leftwich play. Big Ben isn’t 100%, no matter what he tells you.
.) Washington Redskins: If the ‘Skins lose Portis, you can probably give the win to Dallas. Welcome back, Tony Romo.
.) Tampa Bay Bucs: It’ll be fun watching down the stretch as Carolina, Tampa Bay, Atlanta and New Orleans all battle for the division.
.) Indianapolis Colts: Is this the old Colts we’re seeing? It’s amazing what one guy can do to a defense. Bob Sanders has totally transformed that D since his return.
.) Baltimore Ravens: Great defense. Good enough offense. Will it be enough in the playoffs, is the question.
.) Arizona Cardinals: There’s such a thing as very unimpressive wins, and Arizona demonstrated it Monday night.
.) Miami Dolphins: Take a look at this team’s schedule: Right now they’re probably a favorite to make the playoffs.
.) Philadelphia Eagles: It was a good fight they put up against New York. The Giants, folks, are just that good.
.) Chicago Bears: They need Kyle Orton back. Rex just keeps throwing balls up in the air for grabs.
.) Buffalo Bills: Started 5-0. Now you’re 5-4. Time to see how tough this young team is.
.) Dallas Cowboys: The bye week came at the best time possible. If Tony Romo is healthy, this team can turn it around. But they need him back, and with the thick of their conference schedule ahead, they need him back now.
.) Minnesota Vikings: Cliffnote: Since Ol’ Gus has been plugged in, the team is 5-2. They can thank the refs for a poor safety call for this one, though.
.) Denver Broncos: At this rate, they’ll never have to play very good, because San Diego isn’t any better.
.) Green Bay Packers: It was a tough loss, but they’ve gotta put it behind them. Props to the defense and special teams. That offense has to get more consistent.
.) San Diego Chargers: A win at home against the Chiefs when Kansas City decided to go for two when they could’ve tied it? Just not impressive. No other way to slice it.
.) New Orleans Saints: Drew Brees is putting up great numbers. But if those numbers are accompanied by picks and bad defense, then it won’t do anything for the Saints. Matt Ryan had half the stats and was twice as impressive.
.) Jacksonville Jaguars: Don’t jump back on the Jags’ bandwagon because they were able to run against the Dolphins. I watched this earlier in the year, bet them the next week, and was, as you can guess, out of my money.
.) Cleveland Browns: Jamal Lewis says they quit. I believe him.
.) Houston Texans: With Matt Schaub out, this team is done. They made a nice little run to get to 3-4, but have since fallen apart.
.) SF 49′ers: Losing close shows the team has grit. But the time management in the final two minutes shows the coaching staff has little experience.
.) Seattle Seahawks: Gritty effort. Matt Hasselbeck is back, so that should provide some spark. Probably too late to do anything in the NFC West, though.
.) Kansas City Chiefs: They’ve only won once, sure, but their last two weeks they’ve played much better teams and been close in both of them.
.) St. Louis Rams: When Haslett took over, the team got new life. That life is now gone.
.) Cincinnati Bengals: They’re a bad team this year, but if these guys get another Top 5 pick, they’ve got something to build around.
.) Oakland Raiders: This team looks awful. Just. Plain. Awful. Firing Lane Kiffin isn’t looking too smart right now.
.) How long before this team gets a win? Time to start
