It’s halftime at most the games. Here’s what’s going on:
Jacksonville Jaguars 7, Tennessee Titans 10: Some may be surprised at this, but I’m not. The Titans have a strong defense, a decent running game, and even though Vince Young is 7/12 and has already thrown his first pick of the year, it didn’t much matter last year.
Houston Texans 3, Pittsburgh Steelers 21: The Steelers started out fast last year, and it looks like the same will happen in ‘08.
St. Louis Rams 0, Philadelphia Eagles 21: Ouch. McNabb looks good, the Rams D looks bad. Even with both starting wide receivers out, Philly is having no struggles moving the ball down the field.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers 10, New Orleans Saints 7: It was my lock of the week, and it isn’t looking like a lock. New Orleans scored quick, but have slowed down since.
Kansas City Chiefs 3, New England Patriots 7: The worry right now isn’t that the Pats will lose this game. The worry is just how long will Brady be out after leaving the game early with a leg injury.
New York Jets 13, Miami Dolphins 7: The Dolphins were a trendy pick because Chad Pennington knows a lot about New York. I have to wonder: Why didn’t anyone question what New York knew about Chad Pennington?
Seattle Seahawks 7, Buffalo Bills 20: Matt Hasselbeck is 6/20 for 84 yards. You can’t win on the road with that kind of inefficiency.
Cincinnati Bengals 3, Baltimore Ravens 10: Speaking of inefficiency: Carson Palmer is 7/14 for 53 yards and a pick. The rookie, Joe Flacco, is 6/16 for 45 yards but hasn’t turned the ball over.
Detroit Lions 14, Atlanta Falcons 21: The Falcons led 21-0 before you could sneeze. A few passes here and there to Calvin Johnson and Roy Williams, and the Lions find themselves right back in this one.
