For those that have ever read this site, you know I’m quite the gambler. And in gambling, the slightest of plays can make or break your bet.

Yesterday, the Steelers were a five and a half point favorite against the visiting Chargers. With the game winding down, and with the Chargers trying to make a miracle down one point, the Steelers knocked down a lateral and ran it back for a touchdown, thus giving them a seven point win, thus allowing them to cover.

Or not.

The refs ended up reviewing the play, and though it was clearly a legal lateral, the refs claimed it was forward and the touchdown was nullified.

Now this isn’t the type of game that people are going to be up in arms because one team got screwed. Whether the Steelers score or not, the Steelers win. Whether the Steelers score or not, the Chargers lose. But how about all those people that bet on Pittsburgh?

I was listening to ESPN earlier, and they claimed that right around $100 million was bet on that game alone this weekend. That means there’s a lot of angry, angry people out there.
