Pro Football Talk, a site I completely trust, and is rarely wrong, says that the Eagles were making a late move towards Moss, and lost the guy “at the wire.” According to their report, they offered Moss more up front and more on an annual basis, but Moss, being unhappy in Oakland for so long, wanted to stay where he knew he was comfortable.

This is move that would have made an immediate impact in the NFL, presumably taking the Eagles from sleeper playoff team to Super Bowl favorite. Moss would have more than likely had the same kind of impact TO did when he came to Philly, if not more.

PFT also wonders if this means the Eagles will make a stab at Larry Fitzgerald. Though Fitzgerald isn’t the same type of receiver as Randy Moss, he is pretty good, and would definitely open some things up for Brian Westbrook.
