When the Titans made their near-miracle run, only falling one yard short, one of the staples of that team — and the defense, especially — was Jevon Kearse, who was best known as The Freak. After four years in Tennessee and 47 sacks later, Kearse signed with the Eagles. Then was cut.

And is now back with the Titans.

“Not only is this an opportunity to finish where he started, but he also has a lot left. This is not just a nostalgic thing to bring back the old days. He’s here to fill a spot and to help us win football games and knock the passer down. We were very excited with the results of the physical and very excited to get things put together as quickly as we did,” Fisher said.

It’d be silly to think Jevon can return to his days as The Freak, given the injuries he’s sustained, but one can hope he can be a semi-dominant defensive end again. And if the Titans are extra lucky, maybe he’s picked up on how to play the quarterback position.
