Tiger Woods hasn’t done much on the greens since the Master’s, but is making sure he stays in the headlines. When asked if he’d been paying much attention to the Stanley Cup Finals, Tiger Woods had this great thing to say.
“I don’t really care,” he said with an impish smile. “It’s all about the Dodgers. I don’t think anyone really watches hockey anymore.”
To his credit, Tiger’s got a point. Not to put the guy down or anything, but no one really watches golf, either.

I’m so angry, I can’t see straight! “I don’t think anyone really watches hockey anymore.” Obviously this man has been living in a bubble. Forgive the very passionate fans of hockey who not only WATCH, but flood the internet even in the off-season. Let’s see that kind of passion out of GOLF fans. Wait… are there actually FANS… or just people who THINK they can play? Maybe that’s the difference. Golf is easy enough for just about anyone to play. That can’t be said about hockey. Sorry Tiger… you’re WAY off base on this one… wait.. that’s a baseball reference. Damn! do I even KNOW a blasted GOLF reference? um. No!

Tiger not only put down hockey, he put down every professional hockey athlete out htere. Hockey, especially playoff hockey is among the top two most entertaining sport out there. I’ve lost a lot of respect for Tiger.

Guy’s , we all need to calm down!
1st of all the king of ‘golf’ denouncing a far superior and skilled sport is down right funny.
We play golf on the offseason to relax, the rest of the year those that understand the game of hockey , know it is the ultimate in self sacrafice in the name of your team and your team objectives.
Golf is for overpaid lonely people that don’t have an iota of natural athleticism (or like most of us, a sport of leisure ie; relaxation).
But most importantly , as a result of last years poor ratings for the PGA Championship he is trying to salvage this year with a witless approach to promote it in advance by jabbing the hockey demaographic.
That way when the PGA begins on August 10th at least a large audience finishing up with the playoffs will pay attention to it (it matters not weather said attention is positive or negative).

Anyone stop to think he may have been kidding? I watch the Red Wings like its my job, but Tiger is in Michigan for the Open; maybe he was just making a joke albeit not a very funny one. As a Canadian who digs hockey as much as the next guy, maybe this is taken a bit too literally…
