Unless, of course, you’re like me, and you happen to be playing him this upcoming week.
I’m not happy about the news, but if it had to happen, I just assume it happen now: AP, the sure lock for Rookie of the Year, has ripped up his knee and will be out for a little while.
The good news is that the knee is stable and it’s not an ACL (it’s a torn lateral ligament), and this injury shouldn’t hamper the entire season; they’re saying he could be back in a month and, to be honest, that’s got to be almost perfect timing — I know winning is fun, but when you’re the Vikings and you’re not going to the playoffs anyway, you may as well start playing to lose, so you can actually get AP some compliments to go with his beastly running.
Brian Brohm, Matt Ryan, Andre Woodson. . . you’re on the clock. Time to audition for “Who Wants to Hand the Ball off to AP.”
